The Movement

The syntax of “The Movement” comes from the Dada manifesto and the gesture of “The Movement” from the Feminist art within the performance space, the Exquisite Acts & Everyday Rebellions Feminist Art Show.


Excerpt: (Note: words in brackets were performed, not spoken)

The Movement takes on the job of [walk forward]

and [walk backward]

of [peer forward].

The Movement is only a divinity of [nod up and down],

which must quite simply be placed beside the other forms of [raise right hand]

of the [move right arm in as if to clap]

of [do a full clap with the left hand].

Abolish [clap with both hands]

and all that’s left is [combine walk forward/ peer forward/ nod up and down].
