HEADTalks

[2012, performance, 18 minutes]

HEADTalks examines the idea of “expert” – who gets deemed “expert” and how this role is outwardly identified through performance. Below, a rendition of the 2009 TEDTalks speech by Elizabeth Gilbert, author of the bestseller “Eat, Pray, Love,” for the annual ‘Technology, Entertainment, and Design’ conference. HEADTalks was first performed live at the Los Angeles Downtown Winterfest and in Liz Glynn’s Black Box for the Pacific Standard Time Festival. Video documentation and editing of the Winterfest performance by laARTstream and Mark Walsh. Photography from the HEADTalks performance at the Black Box by Bianca D’Amico.
